Nine years ago today ( July 5th, 2001 ) I lost my best friend Keenan Milton… He actually passed away on the 4th but the time of his death is a bit sketchy… I would like to think that he passed away after 12:01 am on the 5th so the happiness of the 4th of July doesn’t get over shadowed with the sadness of the passing of one of the greatest skateboarders all time and one of my best friends… still remember the last day I saw him.. which was the last day he was alive… The 4th of July.. he came into the shop.. and in typical Keenan form.. went behind the counter and opened up the register and grabbed some cash for… what else ?? Beer… for the party. He tried to convince me not to go to NYC that day but i was already packed and ready to go… we hugged and I bounced to NYC… the next morning i get the call in NY at 5 am in the morning.. a phone call that early meant something bad.. I dropped the phone… then I rushed back to LA to deal with it. Soon after the funeral back in NY.. found a box of bearings that was sent to him… never opened it.. look at it from time to time…. Keenan.. I know you’re up there raising hell… and I know you’re smiling on all of us that you love. Rest In Power brother. Love and miss you.

The painting is FINALLY done….. the custom cabinets and Nike SB display are being installed next week….. spent the WHOLE day with Shae Johnson from Nike SB.. finishing up last minute shit for the SB buildout.. making sure its merchandised correctly.

Five years ago… we were the first to do our now famous Black Friday Sale … soon everyone followed suit and started their own version… So now we are doing a “black friday ” type sale at BP Pasadena. Everything will be on SALE close to if not below cost….. We are doing this to clean house of product in anticipation of our Grand Re Opening of our Melrose flagship store. So come through and take advantage of great product at a great price. The sale starts Friday…and goes until Monday… WE WILL BE CLOSED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY !!! SO TAKE NOTE.

Here are some new pics of our brand new flagship store on Melrose Avenue… The major construction is done… now we have to pick the color scheme of the paint and get the custom cabinets and showcases installed… if that wasn’t enough… we have to install the custom, one of a kind, Nike SB Buildout… YES,,, you read it right.. we will have a custome Nike SB buildout to showcase EVERYTHING Nike SB has to offer… a first for any shop. Last night…. we got invited to a special release party for Nike SB’s Icon Pack.. which consists of the highly anticipated Koston Dunk High and the Brian Anderson Custom Blazer Mid…The party was intimate by Nike’s standard.. only 200 invitees…Of course being down with Koston since 95 … we were some of the lucky few. Check out the pics and don’t forget.. at midnight tonight.. the shoes go on sale at Brooklyn Projects Pasadena.
